Cholesterol
What is cholesterol?
Cholesterol is a white, fatty substance found in the bloodstream. There are two types of cholesterol: LDL and HDL. LDL cholesterol is considered bad because it transports cholesterol from the liver through the bloodstream, where it can be deposited . HDL cholesterol is considered good because it acts as the bus that picks up cholesterol from the bloodstream and carries it back to the liver for disposal.
About 30% of American adults have total cholesterol levels above 200 mg/mL. That's why it's important to know about tocotrienols.
What are tocotrienols?
Found within select natural botanicals, tocotrienols are a specialized class of phyto-nutrients that can help you effectively manage your cholesterol levels.* These powerful antioxidants also protect against free radical damage.
Manage your cholesterol with tocotrienols
Over a dozen studies have been published on the pharmacological effects of tocotrienols. Several have found that tocotrienols help maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range.* Others show that tocotrienols protect cholesterol from oxidation - which further supports the health of the arteries.*
But keep in mind...not all tocotrienols are the same. There are four types of tocotrienols: alpha, gamma, delta and beta. Research suggests that the delta variety may be 30 times more effective than the others!
